Last Saturday I helped host (if you can call it that when it’s not in my house) a baby shower for three women in our Sunday school class. They are due in December and January and the timing worked out to host their shower at the church all at the same time. It was fun.
I made a cake and after I had it all made, I decided it wasn’t big enough. So I pulled out some cupcakes I had frozen last month and added them to the table as well. I also made four quiche to sit on the other end of the table and several other people brought yummy breads, dips and salads as well. My friend Rachel who helped host, brought punch. Two kinds. A green colored, lemon, lime number and a coffee flavored punch. Um…wow. It was good. We packed a few things we had lying around the house and turned the little lounge area at the church into a bit of a girly zone.
These flowers are from another shower I hosted some 6 years ago now. Any guesses as to what little baby we were celebrating that lovely morning?
Lots of gifts. This was before half of them arrived too. I used onesies draped over the table to show which gifts were to go with what baby.
Food, food, food. I wish you could taste that punch! These punch bowls are mine. The first one belonged to my mother and I think it is so very, very cool. I love when I get an opportunity to use it.
The Mamas! From left to right: Stacy (having her first baby, a girl), Felicia (having her first boy to go with her little girl) and Amber (having a surprise after thinking she was probably done having any more babies…She has a boy and girl already but had gotten rid of EVERYTHING.)
Aren’t they CUTE? These are such precious girls. I really can’t wait to see what God has in store for them and their little ones.
Opening gifts. There were so many lovely things. I was really pleased with the turn-out and the response from so many.
You’re a great host, no matter the location! (were those from Lael’s shower?!) 🙂
I also think the punch bowl is really neat.
Well done! Hope theses babies arrive in perfect timing and with great health.
Yes, it was from your shower just before Lael was born. I have such fond memories of preparing for that shower. The time I got to spend with Amy, LaDonna and Amber, the huge bouquet that Barbara brought for you and then the lovely time we all had visiting. It was so exciting to welcome that little lady. So much has happened since then…MY, MY, MY!
MY MY MY indeed! 🙂
Lovely! I love to take every opportunity I can find to use my pretty serving pieces. Love that punch bowl 🙂 And the cake? Looks amazing.
