I made my nephew’s birthday cake for his party last night.
I used coconut oil instead of Crisco and it made the icing seem a little lighter in my opinion, but it also seemed to be more crumbly. It was not buttery, sticky, and it didn’t spread or pipe as nicely, but it worked, and it tasted pretty good, especially with a little ice cream.

He does look just like Bobby. Hope had a similar look when she was a baby. It’s those eyes…very, very Bowen. 🙂
