I Am Determined

I have decided to focus more fully on my sundress quilt. On Sunday I relaxed on the floor with all the scraps and cut strips to go around the edges. I also sewed a white border on and began stitching my scraps together. after a small row of the colorful scraps I think I’ll be done with the top and will be able to put it in the frame.

Now…my hope is that I can do this quickly and put the frame out on my back porch and have the beautiful fall leaves to surround me as I stitch. I cannot think of a better fall project than that. Well…except that it’s a summery quilt instead of an autumn one.

Regardless, I hope to have pictures soon of some real progress, but for now I’ll post just a couple of the current state of things:

I am looking forward to what this can become with some quilting stitches added. I certainly feel that the texture of quilting changes everything. It becomes the grace a little crooked stitching and cutting needs for a project to become something special.

  1. It did for a while. I’m glad I found it again. I started this before I knew I would never have a daughter of my own. I am thinking now that I need to use it as a donation item for an adoption fundraiser for someone. I will have to get with Tisra on that one.

  2. Wow! Impressive. This is making me feel guilty about the stitch witchery and hems held together with masking tape across the street. 🙂

  3. I love that quilt…really love it. But I love quilts in general. I’d have a hundred probably if I could a) afford one (hundred) or b) make one myself.

I actually just bagged up my entire fabric stash drawer and tossed it in a closet. I can’t be bothered with it right now 🙂

  4. mom – No…the sofa is still sitting there quietly waiting. It seems I must jump from project to project and back again in order to finish things. Not sure if that makes me ADD or what, but it seems to be the way I roll.

  5. I’m with Amy. Not only did I bag up my fabric stash, I chucked it. Gone.
I will enjoy your projects vicariously, if I may 🙂
