Perspective

Lily, whose heart always dreamed,
For excitement and color that gleamed,
Sold her heart for a pence,
Just to scale a small fence,
But the grass was less green than it seemed.

I read a quote today that I really like. It speaks of enjoying what we do, what we have and what we are.

“I can’t imagine anything more terrible than to be lying there on your death bed thinking back over your life and suddenly realizing that all the high points had taken place during your two-week annual vacations.” – Mackey (Mac) Hedges

Just thought you might enjoy it too.

  1. The quote IS a great one! What are the obstacles and excuses that keep us from living life the way we truly want to or should?

  2. Tisra – I think the principle of Psalm 37:4 is the answer to the dilemma. Maybe that’s oversimplifying it, but the results of living these words out is so gratifying. “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” NIV When we surrender all, seek first the Kingdom, delight fully in the LORD, we are fulfilled in a way nothing else can compare to.
