Open For Business

Well, I posted Mattie Kate. She looks pretty lonely there, but we’ll make her some friends or maybe someone will wish to give her a home elsewhere. I am sort of having doubts about that though.

I am realizing the importance of the tags and title. I think that my next few bunnies will have Easter bunny in their name in hopes of grabbing the interest of those who do searches. There are lots and lots of things to look at on Etsy and few reasons to find Mary Mary Stationery. I’ll work on that.

I really need to get the pattern in working order and post that as well. I think that might draw some interest for people who wish to make an Easter bunny for their little ones.

Off to school and Bible study today. I’m about to be late.

  1. Those are my feelings about an Etsy store as well – making yourself visible there is almost more work than I want to do.

  2. Also, think in terms of marketing outside of etsy. Two ideas: Put an etsy mini on your blog and the sewing blog. Use that link in your signature when you comment on other blogs. I’m sure there’s a lot more advice out there, but I’m certain that those are the places that brought me non-friends and family orders. I don’t know as anyone just “found” me on etsy. If you offer some sort of give-away on the pattern, you might successfully alert whipup.net. Or, just submit it and see if they’ll link to it when they do a spring/easter round-up (they often post a bunch of link on a particular topic around major holidays like “children’s christmas crafts”)

You have a great product, now it is just about getting the word out.

I’m almost ready to go live with the giveaway site for the adoption, which will have a link to your shop- hopefully a lot of traffic. Make sure you etsy shop is ready!
