A Memory in Spades

A sweet girl named Marilyn Stark,
played cards like a consummate shark.
Each card that she saw,
Her memory could draw,
But she never could say where she parked.

I almost forgot again. My week has been off a bit because of Owen’s school schedule. He has been home yesterday and today for teacher in-service and will be off Monday for President’s day.

Because of this schedule change I took them to get haircuts this morning and then off to the zoo for a couple hours. Obviously we couldn’t see everything in a couple of hours but that was really all the time we had. We renewed our family pass while we were there and it was time and money well spent. The boys did great. Normally I’m exhausted from trying to keep Owen and Ivan to walk faster and I have to stop and rest their short legs a little more often than I like. Today they were running ahead of me and it was so perfect. The weather was beautiful and it was very pleasant to be out walking around.

  1. Yay for warmth, sunshine, and energetic little legs! I just love the picture of the three of them from behind. It’s so sweet!

  2. What fun! Going out really does get easier and easier as they get bigger. Just wait. You’ll soon be asking them to stop so you can rest *your* short legs.

  3. Funny limerick. Travis often doesn’t remember where he parks.

Glad to know you renewed your zoo passes, we’ll have to go together sometime.
