Busy Week Ahead!

I got a few good pictures of Aron last week. Check out my big/little man.

It’s been a good weekend. The weather is getting colder making the house cozier and with two quilts on the bed, I’m like itching to crawl in between those sheets. I’ve been sleeping really well. The baby is sleeping really well and I’m so thankful. I’m still not getting quite a full 8 hours but I usually work pretty well on 7 and every now and then I even get a nap.

This is going to be a very busy week so I don’t expect to get a lot of blogging in. I need to plan a lot of meals tomorrow and get to the grocery store very soon to accommodate that plan. Tuesday night there is a meeting at church that I probably will just let Kris go to alone because I don’t want the hassle of asking someone to watch my kids. Wednesday night is church. Thursday afternoon I’m driving to Becky’s to go with her to get some raw milk and I’m leaving the big boys with her overnight because I have a meeting with the Ladies Board on Friday morning. Also on Thursday Kris and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary over dinner. I am hoping to get someone to take Aron for a couple hours while we go out. On Saturday Kris’ parents will arrive and on Sunday Kris (and Aron) and I will be leaving after church to continue our anniversary celebration with a short trip to St. Louis.

For our anniversary we had really hoped to do something big this year but we had a baby instead so we’ll put that off for a while and enjoy a relaxing couple of days in a city we have grown to appreciate. We haven’t been there in a long time but spent time in St. Louis during our courtship and since we only have a couple days to get away we felt that it was appropriate to revisit the gateway city. We will be staying at the Millennium right near the arch and there are a few places we want to revisit in the downtown area. There are some very swanky restaurants I found, but kept having to remind myself that we will have a baby in tow and swanky and baby don’t always mix well. So we’ll settle for really good food and put aside the swanky for another time.

I am mostly looking forward to relaxing in a hotel. I love hotels. Anytime you can go and sleep in a comfortable bed and there are people around who will bring you food and make your bed for you, you should do it. There are no responsibilities in a hotel. You pay for it and then you are completely free to do whatever the heck you want and they’ll smile and clean up after you. No one asks you to pick up after yourself or wash the dishes, or clean the floor, or make dinner, or wash their underwear, or fold really small t-shirts, or match very small socks, or…can you tell I need a vacation?

  1. Ah, a hotel stay- how nice. I hope you guys enjoy your anniversary. Ooh, I guess that means that yesterday was the 10th anniversary of mine and Trav’s first date.

  2. Congratulations on 10 years! I remember it well. I regarded with great interest this woman who would dare to take away the first of “my boys.” It got easier with each of my guys’ weddings, though 🙂

  3. Hey, I *am busy* around here, but I SOOO appreciated your card, and I’m thinking of you and how busy you must be, too. I hope normal, routine days are becoming more and more, and that you aren’t pushing it too much in trying to accomplish things for company to come. Hoping to see you guys soon.
