Everyday Life

He Said/She Said

Watching the woman struggling to maintain her patience with her three young sons, the older two especially as they tried to pull apples and oranges from the fruit bins in the produce section, the old man smiled and chuckled a bit.

When she noticed his gaze she smiled back which allowed him the freedom to speak up.

“you have a lot of help there” he remarked.

She bantered back, “with help like this, I can get done in twice the time.”

In other words I went to Wal-mart today. I got what I needed but didn’t get everything on my list. Once there I quickly shortened the list to the necessities and even then felt like I couldn’t get out of there quickly enough. I’ve been avoiding Wal-mart but there are a few things that I can only get there, so this week I braved the evil empire. I made it out alive and the boys only got spanked three times.

I did get a great parking space!

I am really looking forward to the rest of this week. An Arbonne Party tonight, a carefully planned day of making dinners ahead tomorrow with the annual celebration of evil that night. Thursday I get my hair cut and will be meeting Amy at the park right after and Friday night is the Night of Laughter video party at the church. So…surely a trip to Wal-mart is just a hurdle to get over and look! I’m over it.

  1. I hate Wal-Mart! Well, actually I liked the one in Hendersonville because it was brand new and rarely crowded. The one in Cool Springs is the only one around for miles- and miles and miles. So it’s crazy-crowded. I usually find ways around going but if I HAVE to go it’s on a Thursday in the late morning. It makes it much more tolerable then. BUT I also have the option of going with only one little one which you don’t have.

  2. I am in the Evil Empire as little as possible also. But you are right there are only certain things in there that aren’t in other stores. Glad you made it!
