A Nice Weekend

Saturday and Sunday we spent a good amount of time outside. It was beautiful and clear and a perfect weekend to enjoy some family time. Saturday morning we attended and involved in an event called SoulWalk which began last year to pray and raise money to reach lost souls. Kris and Owen walked the 5K course and were pretty tired out by morning’s end. I spent time on the Bicentennial Mall downtown, where the event was held, watching the baby and Ivan and talking to friends from church as we waited for their return.

The afternoon found us resting and getting ready for church on Sunday. The boys ate dinner and got their baths a little early as they didn’t get naps in the afternoon and Kris and I wanted to get them in their beds as early as possible. This gave us a little longer than usual to rest and relax in the evening without the noise and conflict that two young boys produce.

Sunday was wonderful. Sunday School was great, with a new couple joining us and a good lesson that prompted some discussion. The sermon was great, very honest and straightforward. As if Pastor Davis is capable of any other sort of sermon. It was refreshing to hear him speak on the subject he chose. “Never Give Up” was the title and there were a lot of people who requested prayer at the end of the service. We all have trials we have to face and it’s always good to be reminded that His grace is sufficient.

Sunday afternoon we met Becky and Bobby and their kids at the park and I sat in the shade with the baby while the kids played. It was beautiful and I took a few pictures of the boys. My flash wasn’t cooperating, probably had low batteries, so my pictures in the shade weren’t all they could have been. I will at least put one of Aron up since he changes the fastest right now. I’ll put up more later.

Right now, they are all asleep and I must take advantage of this time and lay down for a while myself.

  1. It sounds like you had a great weekend!

I’m glad to see a new picture of Aron, he definitely changed since the day he was born. You haven’t written about his sleeping patterns yet. Is he sleeping well? I suppose I should just give you a call- silly me and my phone averting ways 🙂

  2. Good for you – taking advantage of the down town and resting up! It sounds like the adjustments that go along with adding another person to the bunch are going pretty smoothly….
