Tisra tagged me today to compile a list of 8 random things about myself. So, here you have it:
The rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
8 Random Facts About Me
1. I was raised in a Christian home and attended a Mennonite church. My parents were raised in the Amish religion and my only living grandmother is still Amish. This is one of those facts that really isn’t all that interesting if you get down to the bones of it, but people seem to find it fascinating when they find this out so I listed it.
2. I love music, especially writing and singing. The combination of melody and words move me like nothing else. However, don’t ask me to dance, play an instrument or clap along because I have little to no rhythm at all.
3. I was raised in a small, small, one blinker light town in Michigan and I love the perspective it gives me. I graduated with 30 others in a public school, was scared to drive in areas with left turn lanes, and knew almost everyone in town on a first name basis.
4. I have 42 first cousins. There were 5 others who died in their childhood from a car accident and a house fire, but I did not know them.
5. I am consistently torn between logic and emotionalism, fiction and practical reading, idealism and neglect, vanity and comfortable realism, confrontation and peace, painting a room in wild colors I love to look at or something solid and comforting and easy to sell when the time comes.
6. Hand-written cards and letters received by snail mail make me happy.
7. I have a birthmark on my right shoulder blade that I never saw until I was 18.
8. I am a homemaker, fulfilled in the calling God has placed on my life for this time. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing and settling into the knowledge that you are where you are supposed to be within God’s plan and purposes for His kingdom.
Tag, You’re It!
Becky, Kristy, Cheryl, Traci, Sherri, Christy, LaDonna and Cathy
More cousins than classmates! I enjoyed the facts I *didn’t* already know. Your birthmark, for instance. How odd and neat all at once. Odd that you knew not of its existence, and neat that you were able to discover something new about yourself that far into the game!
I love all that makes you, you.
wow, 42 first cousins! I only have 6!
I think most people are full of contradictions because we are more than one personality type. The contradictions balance you out. So interesting the way that God has created us!
I just read that I’ve been tagged and I’m working nights for a couple more nights. I’m so sleepy at the moment that it might be scary what I say if I write 8 random things about myself. If, at the end of my string of nights, I remember to respond, I’ll do my best! How blessed we are to have so many cousins! I know your total is different than mine, but we share a bunch of the same ones.
Do I have to do this right now?
Cheryl – By all means, rest up and then communicate your randomness. We don’t want you falling asleep on the job because your cousin insisted that you play her little games.
Kristy – What is wrong with you? You act like you just had a baby or something…get over it and get typing. I can just hear your random facts:
1. I just had a baby
2. I have three boys
3. I just had a baby
4. I’m tired
5. I just had a baby
6. I’m sore
7. I just had a baby
8. I don’t like my sister Mary very much right now.
You know me so well…
