Look What I Finally Finished!

After months and months of having unfinished curtains I finally got my little brown “cuffs” sewn to the blue drapes. Kris helped me hang them last night with his new laser level/stud finder. I’m quite pleased with them. Kris asked me if we were done now and I had to laugh. I can think of three or four more things that I would like to do to improve them, but for now…yes, they are done. I am glad for the color in the room and the height added by the brown at the bottom adds a little touch of class to them. Just hanging them on decorative rods (even if they are $8 Walmart specials) makes them look tons better in my opinion.

So…now according to Kris I have to finish the buffet. It’s very close. I need to do a little shopping yet. It’s the project that has changed progressively and caused me to do more looking and questioning and shopping than I’m truly interested in doing. But I like what it is, and I think I’ll be very happy with it should I ever finalize it.

  1. They look just perfect, Mary. I meant to comment the other night how your house is really coming together- it looks classy and comfortable, polished and still inviting. It really reflects you guys. Before, it was such a blank canvas, but no longer looks that way- you have left an imprint and it is all you.

I’m sure you’ll do great things with the nursery, too. Can’t wait to hear your visions and ideas.

  2. i think they look great! you have done a lot recently with the new office, dining room furniture, fish tank and new curtains!
and LOL about Kris…did he mean finished with the curtains, the room or stuff in general?
he would die if he saw the list i made for barry the other night!

  3. Sherri – he specifically meant the curtains. He thought I was done with them once before, had them hung and everything until I decided they needed some height and a finishing touch on the bottoms. I would love to add beaded trim between the two colors and a few other embellishments but I’m in no hurry.

  4. very nice! you are so creative. I never would have thought of that design and color combo. Love the little boy too.
