It’s A Boy!

I had thought yesterday that if the new baby were a girl I would get Kris to change my entire background to pink. However, such extreme measures are unnecessary as the baby once again showed us “outdoor plumbing,” as the ultrasound doctor loves to say. It took a while to get him to show off for us but with a bit of pushing and shoving from the outside we maneuvered little boy number three to a more vulnerable position and promptly laughed at ourselves for even thinking he could be a girl. I apologize that we don’t have a more clear rendering, but in our haste to feed boys one and two and get out the door, we forgot our video camera. So we have video from our 13 week ultrasound and took this shot with the camera in my cell phone straight off the computer monitor. The good thing is, if we had the video camera, we wouldn’t have anything to show you for days and possibly months. Simply because we don’t download our videos very quickly around here. I would like to change that but am not in a position to make demands for more to do. I now have a nursery to prepare and a baby to ween from his crib and all sorts of fun things to think about. I don’t have much else to write about this, the family is excited. Owen took the news well (he had been insisting on a sister) and Ivan is completely in the dark as to what new uprooting he will encounter in the coming weeks.

  1. Yay! I’m so excited for you guys! Travis has two brothers and loves to tell stories of all the fun they had together as kids. I’m sure your little guys will be the same. And it’s probably a good thing that Ivan is easy going- it will probably make the transition easier on you guys.

  2. You are blessed and will be one VERY taken care of Mama- not that you wouldn’t be with *two* boys and a husband, but somehow, I think, being the only girl in the house will grant you amazing privileges and pampering! You and Kristy will both have three boys- how cool is that? And, apart from gender, I’m guessing that baby boy is healthy or you would have mentioned it, right? So sweet. I’m definitely getting my “baby itch” back and am thrilled to meet the little guy. Guy! Guy! It’s a boy! 🙂 Congratulations, Kelsos…what an amazing thing to be trusted by God to raise the next generation of men. (He must think you’re doing a fabulous job of it!)

  3. Yay another boy! That’s so awesome. You should name him something like Egan or Evan to stay with the four-letter-name theme. (Awww I think Egan would be so adorable!)

So now all of my pregnant friends and family are having boys!!! I’m very happy for you guys.

  4. Michelle – Egan is a neat name. Hadn’t thought of that one. I went ahead and looked up the meaning and it’s “little fire” isn’t that cool?

  5. Never heard of Egan. Huh. Now that the gender is determined I’m sure you guys will figure it out. But, I like tossing out names anyway because isn’t it fun to think of names? Adam, Eden, Clark, Eric, Sam, Harry, Henry, Will, John, Jacob, Kent, James…

  6. Tisra – Today, over lunch, Owen blurted out “How about Colorado?”. When questioned, he indeed meant it as a name for the baby.

  7. I think Colorado is a very cool name. He would definitely be a cowboy!I can tell you that 3 boys are awesome, but you have to watch out, they will gang up on you!

  8. yes, Owen told me today that the baby will be Colorado, I thought that was just hilarious!
Hip hip hooray, you are still a member of the Mom’s of Only Boys Club!

  9. Ah, the name game! I don’t know about everyone else but we had the hardest time picking a name for Halle. We thought about Calista and Eric said he’d disown us or something like that.

Colorado- funny! Maybe that will be Owen’s nickname for him.

  10. Congrats!! I can see it now, your own TV show. The music starts…”da da da daaaa, da da da daaaa, da da da daaaa, da da da da, but-a-bum-bum-bum-bum (then repeat)and you see an animated ladies pump tapping, up and down, up and down, to the rhythm of the da-da’s and the camera rolls to Mary, Kris, Owen, Ivan and ? “ain’t that sweet”, “God love it”!!!
    We’re excited for the Kelso’s!!

  11. Oh, by the way, are you and Kris old enough to remember that show?? 😉 Yikes! I just dated myself!

  12. Chele’ – Well…I am. I used to love it. 🙂 Kris knows what it is at least.

Amy – Ivan was very hard for us. I was sure this one would be even more difficult but maybe not.

  13. What about Gabe? It means God is my might.
Or Emerson? I like that name. Naming a baby is so much fun. What an awesome responsibility! You’ve already gotten to name two. Can I name the third??

  14. I’m a few days late on replying here but I was thinking the exact same thing that Tisra was…that God has entrusted you to raise some Godly men. He knows you’ll do it by His grace and wisdom.

  15. What an enormous blessing! I’m sensing a pattern with the Kelsos and the Johnsons. What fun the boys will have together.
