Everyday Life

Busy Days

The family seems to be all healthy all at once and I’m so glad. Kris is doing well. Though he isn’t exactly enjoying his job, he’s handling the stress of it all very well and I feel like there is a glimmer of light at the end of this tunnel. I’ve been feeling more like myself the past week and a half and that is a welcome feeling. Ivan is back to his giggling self. I missed him so much. Last night on the way home from church, he giggled half the way home and slept the other half. He giggled himself to sleep. Owen has been doing well, still testing and pushing and figuring things out in the world around him, but doing well. This morning I heard him talking upstairs and I asked him if he was talking to daddy. He said that he wasn’t, but he was putting some pieces on the girl potato head (to whom he must have been talking) and said, “I just did a great job going potty!” Alright! I also had a nice birthday. The weather was beautiful and I made myself a cake. I know, your not supposed to make your own birthday cake but there is a frosting that I’ve never found duplicated in any can or other form of purchased icing and I love it, so I made it for myself, and I’m so happy! Yes, butter, sugar and cocoa have the ability to make me happy. I am not ashamed to admit it.

I had set a goal for myself to get my seminar notes done by the 7th. Since the deadline is the 9th, I wanted to actually be ahead even if it’s only a couple days. I worked on them all day yesterday. At least when I wasn’t taking care of the boys, and I didn’t quite make it. I have SO MUCH STUFF! I just hope I can weed some more out and get a good lesson out of this. The great thing is that Pastor Sandy is going to speak on the same subject on Friday night before my class and Pastor Glenda will be teaching a class along a similar vein (something along the lines of appreciating the seasons of life), so I don’t have to worry about not covering everything…there will be opportunity to learn this subject if they have any desire for it at all. Right now I have whittled things down to like 14 pages of personal notes for me to look off of and about 7 for them to fill in the blanks and use as homework. I know this is probably boring reading, but it’s my life at the moment. Anyway…as soon as I’m done with my notes I need to finish a script I’m writing for the skit that four of us will perform that Friday night as well. If we are to rehearse at all, I should probably get something on paper. Ahh!

Almost there!

  1. Mmmmm, that looks good. I’m glad you had a happy birthday and that everyone is well. I looked over your notes and am enjoying reading them. You’ve got lots of great and timely material.

  2. Glad your birthday was good and that you got the cake you love, even if you had to make it! Kiss my boys for me!
