No alarm, no noise, no bright lights or annoying itch even, yet I was fully awake at 4:45 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I woke up thinking about details for the Night of Laughter and after lying awake for 15 minutes decided it was a good opportunity to start getting up a little earlier and get a jump on my day before the boys get up.
Great things happen to early risers and I’m game for great things. I enjoyed the quiet and the slow appearance of the morning light through the windows while I did some reading and made a list. By the time the boys woke up, I felt a little more ready for them and they we were all dressed and fed before 7:45. I won’t bore you with my “to do list” for the day but I hope to impress you with my done list at the end of it. Check in tomorrow for a progress report.
Speaking of progress, Owen is quite the potty king of late. He goes all the time, sleeps in underwear and hasn’t had an accident in a full week. He’s well on his way to being the grand prize winner of the movie “Cars” which he enjoyed thoroughly at the theater when Grandma and Granddaddy were here.
Another Owen tidbit: He has taken to acting out the “Toy Story 2” movie. His Uncle Keith and (almost aunt) Juda gave him a Woody and Bullseye set when they were here last summer and he loves them. Lately, he will do scenes from the movie with the dolls. He often brings me the Woody doll and tells me his arm is broken and asks me to put him up on the big shelf, that’s what Andy’s mom does in the movie. He quotes things too but gets them wrong. Instead of “Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!” I often hear, “Buzz, Buzz, Buzz to the rescue!”
Ivan is scooting everywhere. He is getting into things. Pray.
I’m finished with the primer on the new wall and the trim is looking pretty good. I’m using oil based paint on the trim and the door and I love the way it looks but it takes so long to dry and stinks to high heaven. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish the painting process very soon and we can call this little project done. It’s taken way too long.
I nearly forgot…I beat everyone in bowling last night. Everyone being our Sunday School class. I was in third place until the last frame where I bowled three strikes in a row to beat Kris by one point. Whoo Hoo!
awesome on the bowling!
is the wall done now, just needing paint?
can I ask why the oil based paint? is there something i need to know about? i have a lot of painting i need to do!
yippeeee owen on the potty training!! and cars was a fantastic movie, i want that one too!
and your kids are up, dressed and fed by 7:45??
wow I feel inadequate!!
That’s awesome news about Owen. Sleeping in underwear is a huge milestone. I know you must be feeling some relief there.
Congrats on the bowling win. There’s
nothing like pulling out a win in the final frames.
Bella had a dry day yesterday. Not so much today! Oh well.
Congrats on Owen’s training! We are close behind you, no pun intended!
