Around Here

Time is flying and we are enjoying all we have been able to take in.

Owen is potty training and seems to be catching on slowly but surely. He is certainly not unable, but seems to have strong opinions about potties, underwear and just exactly how things should be done. I believe I will try a little sooner with Ivan. No guarantees.

Ivan is becoming more clingy and I believe will be so until crawling is easy for him. Then, I may never see him again. He is unhappy more than I’d like and though he plays well, it only satisfies him for so long. I think he just wants to explore and feels a bit tied down by his inability to get around. It won’t be long and that will change. He is scooting around and gets up on all fours and rocks himself back and forth, he pulls himself up on things and generally gets where he wants to go. He just isn’t able to do it quickly or without a lot of falls and bumps.

We have a lot happening in the next few weeks so I’m trying to prepare. My friend Shannon is coming to visit for a few days. She will arrive Monday afternoon and will stay through Thursday evening. I am so looking forward to spending some time with her. It’s been a long time.

Dad will be coming right after that and by the time he leaves we will be deep into August. September holds nothing significant on the calendar but I am a bit behind on planning for the Night of Laughter so I will be busy. The Night of Laughter is October 6 this year, falling dead center on Owen’s birthday. No problem, I’ll have a party for Owen on the 7th which is a Saturday. The next weekend is the Sunday School Teachers and Care Group Leaders Retreat and then we’ll start looking to November for a trip to Florida for Thanksgiving and plans for Ivan’s first birthday.

So…things are going well around here…I just have a lot on my mind.
