Everyday Life

Still Here

It’s been over a week since I updated last…how have you all borne it?

Since last Saturday I have enjoyed hearing Reinhard Bonnke preach at our church, been to Wal-Mart with the whole family, had Ivan’s 6 month pictures taken, did lots of quilting, had a productive meeting with the Ladies board from church regarding the Night of Laughter (October 6, 2006), participated in a wonderful sewing party at Tisra’s house, made Owen a Puppy Pajama Pillow, had dinner with the Buttons, visited with old friends at a bridal shower, worshiped with Jeff Deyo at “Worship City Night’s”, heard another great sermon, this time by Pastor Bob, played Glowgolf and had dinner with our Sunday school class.

It’s been a busy week and a busyer weekend but things are good. The trouble is I have a lot more to do. I need to make phonecalls…one of my least favorite things in all the world…to get a writing meeting together for Night of Laughter. I need to finish mowing the lawn. I started it on Thursday afternoon while the boys were sleeping and ran out of gas. The front is done, but the back has a big rectangle of tall grass still waiting for trimming. I would like to work on my smallest flower bed out front but that’s probably going to have to wait…again…because it doesn’t take priority over laundry, vacuuming, dinner, kids or apparently even blogging. It’s really hard to do that sort of work with a baby in the house too because I get so filthy and can’t do a whole lot and get cleaned up in the time between feedings. There’s also a lot of stuff coming up that I want to prepare for and a trip to Wal-Mart is pretty much a necessity…so I’m going to have to squeeze that in somewhere too.

I sound like a whiner.

I promise I’m happy to be involved in all that I’m involved in. I often wish I could do more. I just get a little overwhelmed sometimes. Nothing that a little listing and prioritizing won’t solve.

Ugh. I just got some sad news over the phone regarding some friends of ours who lived in Nashville before Kris and I got married. Kris used to work with them and they were neighbors to Bobby and Becky just after they got married. They attended church with us also. They moved back to Texas, where their families are, right around the time we got married. They have five children and their second son, Sean, has had heart problems all his life. Sean recently had surgery and I was just told that he passed away yesterday. Sean was 21 years old. Becky and Bobby are considering driving out there to be with them as they have been visiting Bobby’s family in Arkansas and aren’t too far away to make the trip. Please pray for the Munoz’ family.

  1. How sad. I will pray for peace for the family.
You have been busy! Just remember God is pleased just by you doing the little stuff too. 🙂
