1-2-3 Not It!

I’ve been tagged to answer a few questions regarding my past experiences and such. I’ve never been tagged before so I’ll have to give it some thought. Being tagged reminded me right away of playing tag as a kid and how we would always start the game by determining who was “it”. The entire group would shout “1-2-3 Not It!” and the last voice heard ringing was the one who had to do some chasing. Is that how everyone else played? It wasn’t until years later that I realized what we were saying even…as a kid I just thought it was “1-2-3 Nutit” because everyone said it so fast. I never questioned what the word nutit was I just thought it was part of the game. I wasn’t a dumb kid…most of the time. Seriously, in my defense we had a lot of games with weird names…I can’t spell any of them and even as I type this I’m wondering too myself if they weren’t weird names I just can’t figure out the phonetics when they’re said fast. I’m tired. Anyway…I was tagged…

Four jobs I have had in no particular order:

1. My first job was working for my parents in the restaurant they owned while I was in High School. “Granny’s Pizza and Cream” a dumb name but it had already been established before we purchased it. I was waitress, cook, dishwasher, delivery girl and anything else that needed doing I did.

2. My second job (sounds like a particular order doesn’t it?) was after I moved to Nashville to attend college. I worked in a Christian day care. I learned a lot at that job and decided to change majors because of it. I switched from Child Care Administration to Commercial Music.

3. My third job (yep, definitely an order here) was with a ministry team called Images Creative Group. I was one of three performers who specialized in comedy/drama ministry but also sang, taught, wrote, ran our own booking and business office and spent lots of time with teenagers around the country. I travelled with this team for five years and was the only female on board. Now that was a job that developed character. We were on the road so much it was easier to tell people how often we were home, which was less than 90 days out of the year. I left after Kris and I got married.

4. My last job (this was actually my 6th job which puts an end to the order) was with the Gideons International. I worked in the international division and met so many great people. I was on the phone with people from around the world as my main responsibility was getting the Gideons from other lands into the States for the annual conference. I really enjoyed working there because of the people I worked with. Being a secretary was so far out of my giftings I felt a bit stretched at times but I could work there again simply for the atmosphere.

Four movies I could watch over and over:

1. The BBC production of Pride and Prejudice. 5 hours of wonderful story telling, acting and humor. I love this movie.

2. Sense and Sensibility. Another Jane Austin novel put to film. Not nearly as well done as Pride and Prejudice but lovely…quite lovely.

3. The National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Stupid funny and I have to see it at least once a year.

4. Sleepless in Seattle. This movie has so much subtle humor and I always enjoy the story…I’ve just never gotten tired of it.

Four places I have lived:

1. Burr Oak, MI (the same house from birth to age 18)

2. Nashville, TN (2131 apartments on Elm Hill Pike)

3. Goodlettsville, TN (with my sister and her husband…while I was travelling)

4. Old Hickory, TN (current)

Four TV shows I love to watch:

1. Pretty much any decorating show out there.

2. News Radio (can’t actually get it on TV anymore but we have a DVD of the first three seasons)

3. Mythbusters

4. Football (maybe it’s the guy I watch it with but I really enjoy it)

Four places I have been on vacation:

1. Went to Texas when I was 7 with my parents to pick up my Grandparents

2. Went to Florida on my senior trip

3. Went to North Carolina on our honeymoon

4. Went to Destin, FL for our 5th anniversary

Four websites I visit daily:

1. my blog

2. Kris’ blog

3. everyone else’s blogs

4. Google

Four of my favorite foods:

1. Veal Tortellini at Vine’s Cafe’ in the Hyatt in downtown Sacramento, CA.

2. Burrito at Baja Burrito on Thompson Lane

3. Burrito at Las Americas on Nolensville Rd.

4. Cinnamon Ice Cream from Ellendales in Donelson.

Four places I would rather be right now:

1. Washington DC with Kris

2. In bed asleep (why in the world am I still up?)

3. In a cleaner house

4. ?

Four Bloggers I am tagging:

1. Amber Hunter

2. LaDonna Jones

3. Amy Button

4. Kristy Hall

We’ll see who’s actually reading all the way to the bottom of this one. I would have tagged Tisra but she’s out of the country right now. I would tag Kris too but I pretty much know what his answers would be if he actually responded which he wouldn’t so why bother. That’s why I love him…no nonsense.

I’m now two hours into Kris’ birthday…hope he’s sleeping! Happy Birthday Baby!

  1. Well, technically I’ve lived in 6 different homes/apartments, 5 different zip codes and four different cities. But Nashville pretty much covers it for the last 15 years.
