This Week So Far

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted anything. I think I’ve just been distracted.

Sunday was Mother’s Day and I had such a nice day. Kris had a card waiting for me in the morning along with some treats and we went to church (which was great!) and had 8 people in Sunday School. Yeah! We found the weather perfect as we walked out of church and decided to eat our take out lunch from Bellacino’s on the back deck. Kris laid it all out and cleaned it all up and after a really nice nap in the afternoon I found him downstairs cleaning the kitchen up for me. What a guy! We took the rest of our pizza and heated it up for dinner and took Owen to the park to play for a while. It was a nice day and I enjoyed being honored for my mothering efforts.

Tim and Kristy came back that night and yesterday morning we all got up ate some breakfast and planned our day. Clay had a photo appointment at Picture People so she and I packed up the boys and headed for the mall. We decided to try to get a picture of both the boys together as well as Clay’s 18 month pictures and it didn’t work. Clay was up and moving constantly and Owen was completely disinterested in Clay. It was easy to get pictures of Owen but none of them boys at play looked good and the two boys would not hold still at the same time. She was finally able to get about three good pictures of Clay and we were able to go home. It took us from 10 until 2:30. That’s too long!

Beth and Aaron Allison and their three children came over for dinner last night. We had stir fry and catch up time. We had a nice time and I hope we can do it again sometime. By the time we got to bed last night I felt restless but knew I should go to sleep. I laid my head down and remember little after that. I was much more tired than I knew.

This morning the little boys played together and both were able to get naps. Tim, Kristy and Clay have now gone to lunch with Jackie and Sheila Harper to discuss the progress they’ve made in beginning a chapter of Sheila’s ministry Save One there in Slovenia. They will go from there to Becky’s house where we will all meet up eventually to have dinner together. So…I have a quiet house to myself for a little while. Owen is sleeping and I just finished mowing the lawn. After a shower I may lie down myself for a few minutes. It’s pretty hot outside and I feel a little tired after my bit of exercise.

  1. Hi Mary! Owen is too cute!
I see Kris is breaking out the Legos!
Shane keeps telling me that Landon will be ready for the Lego castle soon!
    We all know the truth!

  2. Yes…the Legos came for Christmas and Owen is loving them. Clay got into them too and they had a great time putting them together just to take them apart and throw them into the box. I don’t think Kris, I mean Owen, is ready for the castle just yet though.
