Well, you’re not going to believe this! It appears that we still own two houses. Evidently the title company gave us some wrong information as well as handing us (and the buyer) the wrong papers to sign. We missed about three signatures and the new owner who I was so convinced was a great guy has disappeared.
It’s not a problem for us to go sign some papers but until the buyer can be located we are not officially closed. I don’t understand all of this but I am a little peeved about the whole thing. If he doesn’t return before our mortgage payment is due…we need to pay for April and we really can’t. They have canceled the check that I deposited yesterday at their own cost and though many apologies have been expressed I’m quite exasperated.
You would think that knowing the intent of both the buyer and seller would be enough to leave these things alone and assume the best of both parties but because we are dealing with lenders and FHA and all that, it’s not that simple. They need every t crossed and every i dotted. I guess I don’t blame them, I just feel frustrated.
God knows. Therefore, I know I can be at peace with this…it just takes a little time for my emotions to settle down. I just hope the buyer hasn’t gone out of town or something.
Anyway…I know this will work out and once you look at the date of this post you’ll realize it’s not as bad as it sounds.
