Christmas in March

USPS

What is the deal with the mail carrier for 2726 McKeige Drive? Why is it so difficult to put the correct mail in the correct box? How many visits and phone calls to the post office at 37214 does it take to actually get results? At one point the mail box at our old address was tied shut so that the carrier would not put mail in it. Everything seemed to be working for a while but today…I went to the old house to check on a couple of things and found the mail box full. I haven’t checked it in quite some time because last I had checked the box was sealed shut and we were getting our mail at our new address. However, today I was at the end of the driveway and saw that it was no longer tied shut and thought I’d better check. There were Christmas cards in there and not only that…there was mail for the house two doors down from us. This is something that only started happening about a month after we moved. I don’t know if there was a new carrier or what but I have made numerous trips down the road to take 2722 their mail. I decided to call the USPS 1-800 number to see what could be done. I don’t like the idea of yelling at people who aren’t responsible for the problem so I didn’t really want to make a stop at the actual post office. I got a customer service rep from who knows where and explained everything. She confirmed that we did have a forwarding order beginning on July 1, 2004. Those things are supposed to be good for a year. She took my information and began to close our conversation. I said…can I please give you some background on this? I explained my frustration and the number of times I’ve complained in hopes that somehow going this route would somehow make a difference. She apologized and said she would try to fix it. We’ll see.

All of that was a little trip out of the way on our way to the greenway. Owen and I rode the whole trail this time. Beginning at the YMCA Trailhead we rode to Kohls and then to the dam and then back to the Y. I am sore. It was a good workout and we deserved a treat so we went to Amy’s Frozen Custard for a small raspberry fudge sundae.

Owen is in his crib not napping and I am all cleaned up finishing my blog so that I can fold laundry while I listen to Rush.

Ah…the windows are open and it feels so good!
