Mornings, Mending and Movies

I slept a little late today and Owen slept even later. My good husband was up and out the door in good time though and I was able to kiss him goodbye before he left.

I’m afraid I have been a bit lazy this morning. I spent a lot of time reading and surfing the internet and really didn’t get too much accomplished. I will do better tomorrow and have already mended my ways to some extent by starting laundry and getting the kitchen spotless and shiny. Owen took a good nap today and allowed me some quiet time to sew. I made a skirt but I’m not sure that I like it. I used a very simple elastic waist pattern and I think I would like something with a waist band and a zipper a little better. As it is, this skirt cost me no more than $1.00 to make as it was fabric from the ever friendly dollar table at Wal-mart.

Dinner is already made (because we are having left-overs) and Kris will be playing his game tonight so I have a few options as far as what I wish to do. I could do a Monday night movie or I could start the endless chore of cleaning off my desk. Maybe I can do both. I mean…the movie would be playing at my desk and I could work while I have it playing in the background. I’ve already watched everything we have anyway. Sounds like a plan.

  1. I think your skirt is super cute! If you’re looking to improve upon it then one thing that would be super cute is to trim the bottom of it with some black lace ribbon. (sew it on the inside so it looks like it’s a slip just barely sticking out.) It will help tie the pink skirt in with your black shirt, and make it look more like an outfit rather than just two piece of clothing that match. 🙂

(Now you’re making me want a skirt like that!)

  2. I have plenty of the fabric left if you want one. Of course it would require you comeing here to do it.

I like the trim idea. I’ll have to see what I have in my stash of trimmings.

  3. Oooo sounds like a plan! Let me know when you have some free time! Weekends are usually best, that way JT can watch the wild toddler. 🙂 Give me a call sometime.
