Everyday Life

Things are good. I just found this book and thought I’d put the link here in my blog. Although I haven’t totally figured out how to add links to this new blog but I’ll try and see what happens. The North Beach Diet I don’t necessarily want to order it or anything but I thought it looked funny.

Owen has been playing quietly in the bonus room all by himself for about an hour now and I’m just so proud of him. What a great kid. Yesterday I was reading the little book to him that the Fadely’s gave him for his birthday. It’s called “Blue Hat, Green Hat” and he loves it. At the end of each page there’s a little turkey who wears his clothes wrong and it always says “oops”. After reading it many times I decided to see if he would remember the oops and sort of fill in the blank if I didn’t say it. At first he would say what item of clothing the turkey was wearing, which was pretty cute but yesterday he said “ope!” wherever the oops was supposed to be. Not rocket science I know, but it was fun.

Not much going on today…most of the snow is melted away and I have lots of fun chores to get busy with. Oh…I keep finding these great peices of fabric on the dollar table at Wal-Mart. Yesterday, I found 16 1/2 yards of a striped polyester that will work perfectly to cover my cushions on the lawn furniture that our old neighbors gave us. I didn’t think I would ever find such a deal. $16.50 for eight cushions plus pillows I’m sure. I scored.

  1. Love that book. Of course that’s why we got it for Owen. In fact, my kids have loved it to death- we probably need a new copy since this one might be so worn out. Giggles are guaranteed. The others in the series are great, too.

What a steal on the cushion fabric. I got that great chocolate brown denim (for the bonus room curtains) at Walmart’s dollar table years ago. that still stands as one of my best finds. But don’t tell too many people or we’ll have competition for the good stuff! 😉

  2. Yeah, I found some great fabric on the dollar table too! It’s a nice plaid that I bought about 3 years ago and I’ve been promising to make pajama pants for Trav ever since. I’m sure you guys remember that.

  3. Oh yes, the infamous plaid fabric. I guess I didn’t realize you had found it on the dollar table. I didn’t know Tisra’s curtains came from the dollar table either. That is so cool. My kitchen and living room curtains are from there too and it is becoming more popular. Last time I was in there there were two ladies already picking through stuff. Two! Can you believe it?
