Sewing Party

Tonight the doorbell will ring to announce the coming of friends. I so enjoy hosting our “Sewing Party”. We won’t be a big crowd tonight but enough for good conversation. It’s seafood night. We usually pick some sort of theme for our dinner and each person will participate in some form. I’m making a crab bisque and there will be shrimp and scallop pasta, stuffed mushrooms and Key Lime pie as well. There are preparations to be made, especially since this is my first time to host in the new house. It must be perfect you know. Everyone must think that I have it all together at all times. Tisk, tisk, but these are friends. They know better. Thank God for friends who truly appeciate that I clean my house to make them comfortable but would make themselves comfortable even if I didn’t.

I’m just excited that there will be plenty of room for everyone…plenty of outlets for sewing machines if we need them, plenty of floor to spread out fabric or patterns that need to be cut. There will be room for scrapbookers and hemmers, seam rippers and quilters, there will even be room for kids if they come. We’ll send them upstairs and they can play or watch movies to their hearts content. Too bad Kris won’t be home to enjoy it all…oh wait…he doesn’t enjoy any of this stuff. He’s a boy.

Gotta run…much to do.

  1. I thought it was a very successful party. Amy actually touched her sewing machine and finished what she set out to accomplish. I ate seafood and lots of it. Sorry that I didn’t linger longer; I was getting tired and when I went to tell Kris that I’d be ready to leave soon (so that he could move his car), he followed me down the stairs immediately leaving little time for goodbyes. Hope you all had continued productivity.
