System

We’re working hard over here to find a path to still waters.

I have been surprised at how quickly I’ve fallen behind since school has started. I knew first grade would be a little busier, but I’ve been a little overwhelmed by the amount of things to keep up with and remember each day, each week and each month.

Part of the problem has been the lack of a system. So yesterday, I went to Office Max and I got me one.

Open files for school and church papers, schedules, classmate information, invitations, lunch menus, upcoming events and more. A little closed cabinet (got it discounted for having a scratch on the front) for receipts, active papers or cards, recipes that need to be entered in the computer, etc. And then a little drawer cubby to store coupons and those little box tops for the school. I actually found a place for EVERYTHING and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Now the goal is actually using it.

  1. Ahhhh…. just what we were talking about… how having kids in school can be about as much work as homeschool! Papers, papers, papers!

I seriously need to do similar organizing at my house. I just am terrible with devising systems! If it’s been set up, I can maintain it. But, coming up with the “place for everything” so everything can be “in it’s place is HARD for me.

    Well done!
