This is Owen’s last week of Summer vacation. Monday will be the beginning of first grade and a new group of friends for him to get to know. His teacher called today and I am looking forward to meeting her in person soon.
In reality we are still in the thick of summer. But it seemed to be a day to look ahead toward cooler days. It was actually comfortable on the shaded back porch with the ceiling fan on and light breeze blowing through.
And then I saw this…
I don’t want to complain about the heat of summer when there is so much to enjoy about these sunny, poolside, sprinkler running, skin tanning, late sundown, vacation taking days. Yet, it was nice to see that little punch of red in the grass and remember that autumn always has so much to look forward to.
Yes, autumn DOES have so much to look forward to! (and I can’t wait!)
Summer has never been my favorite season. I do my best to enjoy the moment, and find things I like about the heat but I come up lacking most of the time.
Groan. We never get that nice little autumn of which you so fondly speak…
Sadly, I don’t there will be anything quite that vibrant in any yards near me. We just get a mixture of green and brown.
