Everyday Life

H.O.P.E.

Before I get to my intended post I wanted to give you a link to my song on Bobby’s album. It’s called Greater Grace and you can hear the entire song by clicking on the title. I wrote the song for/about my sister Becky who is daily living the miracle of her daughter Grace’s healing. I will warn any of you that are not the biggest fans of country music, Bobby is an Arkansas boy who has been singing Christian Country for most of his life. You will enjoy some of the other songs on the album more than Greater Grace most likely, so feel free to select and listen…and purchase…that would make Bobby happy.

Now…moving on to HOPE.

I am speaking at an event my cousin Cheryl invited me to at her church in Fort Wayne. I would love to share some fun/funny things when I get there and had a thought today based on something my friend Vanessa suggested. She thought it would be a great idea (and I agree) to give the audience a way to help them remember God’s view of the theme of the event which is Hope, Humor and Helpful Hints. So…HOPE, wouldn’t it be even more fun to give them several ways? Want to help? HOPE as an acronym from the words Horses Offering Periodical Eloquence. Or, maybe HOPE stands for: Happy Offerings Pertaining to Eternity. I’d love to give them a top 10 list of these. Of course Cheryl reads this blog so she’ll be in on the fun, but that will make it even more fun for her. Send me any fun ideas, as well as serious if you want to. I am thinking that the real one should be Honest Outlook Projecting Expectations but I’m up for suggestions if you think it’s in need of improvement.

Just a picture. They make blogs more fun. His face/expression looks sort of funny in this shot but I’m lovin’ those curls. I’m so glad one of my boys has curls.

  1. OK, how about Howard Often Pees Everywhere? Um, that’s probably no good. I think your last one is much better 😉

  2. Beautiful song. I’ve always wished I could paint a picture with song-length prose. Alas, I need too many words to say what I mean.
I will have to think about this acronym thing…I’ll get back to you on that if inspiration strikes 🙂

  3. HOLDING

    PRAYERFULLY
    EXPECTING

    Similar . . . but oh so different 🙂

    HAVING

  4. HOPPING

    HOARDING

  5. I’m busy packing, so I’ll have to listen to the song another time. Maybe I can work on some HOPE options while I’m on the plane. I’ll have TONS of time on that plane:)

  6. Helping Older People Elope.
    Holding On (to) Pickled Eggs.
Handing Over Pygmy Elephants (Chris helped with that one).
    Hoarding Outdated Purple Eyeliner.

    There.
    I feel better now.
