There is no limerick today. I’m just taking this Friday off. Maybe I should write a limerick about that.
My head hurts a little on the left side and I have a lot to do so I’m not going to think real hard about making names and stories fit into five lines that rhyme today.
Instead…I’ll tell you that I’ve had a good week. Madison has been here and the time has flown by us. We have been busy, but not overloaded and she has been a real helper to me. She loves taking care of Aron and as soon as the van stops or goes she is up and ready getting him buckled and unbuckled in his car seat. She carries him around, but never smothers him. He follows her around calling “A-ison” and then spouting some statement that’s obvious and getting all excited about his discoveries. Ivan enjoys her too. He loves to show her things and try to impress her but doesn’t like it when she tries to help him with things. He wants me to do my job and not allow anyone else to stand in. And of course Owen loves having her here. She reads to him and plays with him, and teaches him new ways to do things.
I just went to a garage sale three houses down and spent more money than I made at my last garage sale. The homeowner down there is moving, so a lot of stuff was out there and she has good taste. Her name is Jenni Bowlin and if you keep scrapbooks you probably know who she is. Check out her website and you can imagine all I had to leave behind. There were so many little storage cabinets and drawers and organizers that would look great in my future studio but I did not buy them. I had to say no. I did get a lamp for our living room. It matches my sofa and everything else and I like the shape and I decided I just had to have it. I can’t seem to stop expressing that I could have gotten so much more.
I’d better go…the “stuff to do” isn’t doing itself and the headache hasn’t gotten bored and left. I’m off.
Sorry about the headache. Glad you had success at the garage sale though. It’s tough to find the “good ones”, isn’t it? I usually find the ones that are trying to sell junk that needs to be thrown away.
Sounds like Madison was more of a help than anything. You know, you could *adopt* a nine year old girl. 🙂
I really like neighborhood garage sales- it takes the effort out of garage-saleing… a walk around the block might result in a good find!
What’s the lamp look like?
I’m so glad to hear that Madison has been more of a help than a burden to you this week. It’s so sweet to hear how she’s been a big sister to your three young ones. I know she enjoys being tasked (moreso by others than by me usually) and it sounds like your boys have given her that tasking (though unintentional on their part) that she enjoys and needs.
So cute to see your little ones follow a big kid around:) The garage sale lamp looks really nice. It’s such a perfect color.
A quite marvelous woman named Mary
Can’t let head pain make her contrary
She stayed busy indeed
Things to sew, kids to feed,
And hoped that head pain would not tarry.
I’m nothing like you, but in a pinch maybe I can sub! Hee hee!
