When we got home from church last night dad was here and told me that he had some pain in his chest. I didn’t think too much of it because he also told me that he ate a Fat Mo burger and a chocolate milk shake for dinner. I put the boys to bed and got my pajamas on and was talking to Kris when dad came downstairs again and looked a little concerned. “Do you think I should go get checked out?” he said. My first thought was, “no…it’s just the burger” but I figured if he is concerned about it maybe we should check it out. He was going to just drive himself but I asked if he wanted me to go with him and he thought it might not be a bad idea. So off we went around 9:30 to the emergency room. He went right in and I waited. I waited some more. I waited a little more and then this nurse came and told me to just go on back there and keep him company. So I went back there and waited. There was no way to determine last night that it wasn’t a heart issue so they kept him overnight. The pain had subsided quite a bit but not entirely and they wanted to rule all the bad stuff out. Because that’s their job. I like it that we have people who do that stuff…I just wish it were all faster. I was so deliriously tired I thought I saw someone run across the road in front of me on the way home. I blinked real hard and they were gone. I got into bed at about 12:50.
Dad is still at the hospital and I’m waiting to hear from him this morning. I have to take Owen to school and then I think I’ll take the little boys to Chick-fil-A for breakfast and run by the hospital after that.
Keep him in your prayers…I really doubt it is anything serious, but let’s pray to that end as well. If you don’t mind asking God to keep me awake I’d appreciate that too.
Tell your dad I’m praying for him.
I’m so sorry. I’m praying too.
Oh dear. Yes, of course I’ll pray for him. Keep us posted and please stay awake!
