Just a couple quotes to start things off. I thought these were sort of cute.
Owen: I can fly…I’m Buzz Lightyear!
Ivan: Hey Buzz, you were in a movie!

Ivan: Hey Kitty…I have a flower for you.
Owen: Actually Ivan, that’s a lofer.
Me: No…a clover.
Owen: Oh…Actually Ivan…that’s a clofer.

What a wonderful whirlwind I call my life. The spinning takes me through the rough and tumble but always brings me back around to the exciting and fun with the same force.
The weekend brought busy days of course, the retreat was enjoyable and the Saturday that was left afterward was used up in restful regrouping of home and those who live there.
The fellowship and worship on Sunday morning was really good and I felt a strong sense of change in our church that morning. Last weekend 22 people got saved…on a normal weekend church service…no big marketing push (in fact attendance was down) and no illustrated sermon or “incredible testimony,” just the Gospel presented to people who want more than what the world is offering these days. The media reports a lot of doom and gloom…however, as Pastor Davis has continued to say…”this will be the church’s finest hour.” Not ballooning attendance records…but the church, as a people everywhere are going to be triumphant in this time.
We invited our care group leaders from Sunday school over for lunch and an impromptu meeting on Sunday and we had a great time together. We kept them around the table until 5:00 and then relaxed with the boys and met another neighbor while playing in the front yard that evening. It was a very good day.
I called Tisra that night to cancel my plans to make the drive to Franklin the following day. After all that was our weekend, I couldn’t neglect the 6 loads of laundry and 2 loads of dishes for the dishwasher by leaving the house. Owen is on Fall Break and I had hoped to do a few things I normally can’t do. This is a very full week though with NIGHT OF LAUGHTER (Friday, October 17, 2008, 7:00 – 9:00 at the church…yes this is a shameless plug) on Friday and all the rehearsals leading up to it…I don’t have a free evening until next week sometime.
Monday did prove productive. I had a long list and I crossed off almost all of it. The laundry and dishes, sweeping and wiping, unpacking and preparing, bed making and play management, nap policing, tear wiping, potty training and lots of grinning made for a full day. After dinner, Owen and I went to Home Depot and picked up paint for the boy’s bedroom. This is going to be a big job and I hope I can do what my mind envisions. It is the big project for the week and will be starting very soon.
So…off I go to paint cans and brushes. I will see you on the other side.
Those boys are too cute and are growing so fast!
Sounds like the same whirlwind we’ve got going on around here too. I hope it slows down for you soon.
Ditto what Amy said.
And I love those quotes. First-borns just come into the world, ready to boldly correct all perceived mistakes, don’t we?
