Back to the Hairdresser

It’s time for another hair appointment. What to expect…I just don’t know. I am going to see if she can make miracles. I get a free service on my second appointment so I’m going to go for an eyebrow containment. That’s a term I made up because that’s what I need. As I get older my eyebrows seem to want to spread to lower parts of my eyelid…chagrin.

I will also run by Amber’s house on my way because she couldn’t resist buying cute clothes for my kids when they were on sale at the Disney store but doesn’t want to store them for some reason.

Then…after my hair appointment I will be taking the interstate to Providence Marketplace and more specifically Joann to purchase some fabric I found yesterday. I have been looking for a stripe for the new baby room that would include some bright colors like yellow, orange, red, aqua, and bright green. I have found several but they all included pink, or then they had some sort of flowery, butterfly background. This will not do. Yesterday at the Mt. Juliet Joann, I happened across a small bolt of 45″ decorator fabric that is not only cheaper at $6.99/yd., it’s also on sale at 40% off. I brought home a bit to make sure the colors match and they do so I will be calling them and soon after picking up my little treasure. Then…oh then what we’ll do.

  1. I hope you enjoy your cut and “containment”. I’m a plucker, so I’ve never done the waxing thing.

Congrats on the fabric. It can be VERY hard to find what you want when you have something specific in mind. But, you and I share that- don’t we? I think that’s why we often make thing from scratch- it is too hard to find our *vision* already made. I look forward to seeing the great environment you create in Baby’s room. Happy creating!

  2. Tisra – this was my first brow wax also. It was less painful for me personally than plucking and I’m interested to see how long it lasts. The cut is nice. I expressed how I hate the way my hair doesn’t stay shaped the way I’d like and she was able to create some new layers that I think will make a difference. It’s somewhat of a relief after feeling hopeless (keep in mind I’m pregnant and emotional so hopeless is totally conceivable for me right now).

That is exactly why I sew, crochet, cook, etc. by the way. I have been in search of my visions for years and rarely do they come up in my price range. If only I could build my own furniture…I’d be in heaven!

  3. I want pictures of everything!

Yeah, I don’t have the sewing talent to create what I’d like. I have found stores that I LOVE but alas, it’s way too expensive. But if you have a chance to pop into The Iron Gate in downtown Franklin I think you’d like it. *drool*

  4. Amy – I’ve wanted to stop there for years. We almost always go that way through town instead of through the square so I see it, but always in passing. There is a store you guys would probably like called PD’s, It’s a warehouse over on the east side of town with railroad tracks going through the parking lot. You’d never guess what treasures are inside looking at the outside but it’s very pretty stuff. It’s also next door to a stationary shop that I really like. Very cute stuff.

  5. Amy – Didn’t today turn out to be an awesome day to be outside walking around looking in shops?…wish we had known. What are you doing tomorrow or Friday…The high is only 74 I believe. God likes this pregnant lady a lot!

  6. Welcome to the world of brow waxing. I’m addicted 🙂 Not really. I’m just addicted to how much nicer my eyes look and how much it opens my face up to have my eyebrows groomed regularly.

Can’t wait to see the new masterpiece you create in the baby’s room. Does this baby have a name yet??

Did you show the boys their things, or are you waiting until the Fall when they can actually wear them?

I know this is a comment box, but today I’m abusing it with questions 🙂
