I have never been so busy and so content at the same time. I have so many things to do and so much to cause me stress but I’m not feeling stressed about any of it. I actually feel excited about each project and enjoy doing each thing.
Tomorrow is Owen’s birthday. I’ll probably take him to a park or something just to try to entertain him a little extra. Grandma asked for pictures, and I hope to take some video as well.
This weekend is a birthday party for Owen and I don’t have a lot planned for it other than expecting to laugh a great deal over him burying his face in cake. I bought some little party plates, napkins, and a tablecloth but it’s not going to be much of a big deal. I am planning on feeding everyone pizza and then we’ll all dive into some cake and ice-cream. To me…that’s just the perfect meal.
The next weekend is A Girl Thing in honor of my friend Tisra and her upcoming arrival of baby number three…a girl of course. We (Amy, LaDonna and I) are having a good time getting ready for this thing. The invitations are out and the decor is mostly ready to put up. As I have been preparing for this I’ve been thinking it would be good to have a Girl Party at least once a year. We’ll see.
The next week Kris is probably going to have to go out of town for some training and then the weekend will see him at a meetings here in town. I will be helping Tisra host another baby shower type event. This one will include a going away party for the parents as well as a celebration of the new baby. I’m a little behind on invitations for this one but hopefully I can catch up by tomorrow.
The last weekend of the month, Kris and I will be taking our Sunday School Class and anyone else who wants to join us, to Fall Creek Falls. I can’t wait.
November is stacking up pretty tightly too with a possible trip to Dallas, our 7 year anniversary and a definite trip to Florida for Thanksgiving. I’ll try to keep you all posted on the survival of our little family.
happy birthday, owen! Congratulations to you both, Kris and Mary, on surviving your first year of parenthood. I’m sure it has been quite a year of transformation, joy, weariness, cuteness, and smiles. Oh, and lots of diapers. And messes. Oh, Owen, we’re so glad to be getting to know you!
