Short Post

Tuesday, I had the nicest day with the boys. I had to run up to the church to pick something up and then we stopped in at Kris’ office on our way to the zoo. It was beautiful outside and Owen had a blast on the playground for close to two hours. He made friends with another little boy and they were bouncing all over the place. Ivan and I sat comfortably in the shade and watched and then we all walked leisurely around the place going from exhibit to exhibit as our whims led us. It was perfect until I sat down on a bench that was also acting as a small pool. Yes, I was very wet. I couldn’t see the water due to the high sheen on the wooden bench…splash! Owen got a good laugh out of it…I did too actually. That hurried me home though and both boys were asleep quickly. Ivan actually fell asleep in the stroller sitting straight up as we were approaching the car. Very cute. By the time we got home it was getting to be too late to fix any sort of substantial dinner, so I pulled out the O’Charley’s gift card I’ve had hidden away for just such a day, and we all went out. It was all very relaxing and I told Kris that I think I’ll start scheduling Tuesday’s as vacation days from now on.

Monday’s have been my hot and heavy work days and I get caught up on a lot during that time so it leaves me a little bit of stress free play time on Tuesday. I think my boys need that.

Yesterday…not so much. I felt like pooh and I tried to overcome it, but pooh reigned. I was feeling a little better by evening and was able to go to church and film some of the video I need for Night of Laughter. Things are coming together.

Right now, the boys are asleep and I have a little time to do something…what shall I do? What’s most important? Aaahh! I’d better take a nap and sleep on that one. Just kidding.

  1. I like the idea of Tuesday Vacations. I think I’ll ask my employer if we can implement that plan into my schedule too 🙂
