It’s a fine day to update a blog. I have had a wonderful couple of days since last posting.
Monday was fairly productive. I exercised a little, cleaned a little, played a little and ate a little.
I had a birthday on Tuesday and it was so nice. I had intended to babysit for Becky while she took Grace to Lexington, KY for a meeting/appointment. She called me at 6:00 a.m. and canceled as she was not feeling good at all and had been up almost all night. I would have to say I was glad. Not that she was sick, but that I didn’t have to babysit. It wouldn’t have been a big deal because I would have only had the middle two and they were going to Mother’s Day Out most of the day. But because it was my birthday…Kris had planned a surprise for me and only realized Sunday night that I would be gone all day. I had told him about babysitting but he didn’t realize when I was doing it. Regardless…we were able to make good on his plans and we all hopped in the car and drove to Louisville. With our Nashville Zoo memberships we are able to get discounted or free rates at some other zoo’s. The Louisville Zoo was free for us. Kris updated with a couple of pictures so I’ll refer you to his blog as well. The boys did really well, Owen was happy to be there and although it was the heart of nap time he seemed to handle himself just fine. I was able to feed Ivan just before and just after our tour through the zoo so he slept most of the time while we were there. That worked out very well. On our way home we stopped in Rivergate for dinner at Red Lobster. I got to have a little ice cream and cake for dessert so my birthday was complete. It was a very good day and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband. He makes me happy.
Yesterday, I went walking with Sherri (my neighbor). She has two double strollers so we packed up four little boys and hit the road. We managed to tackle one big hill and several smaller slopes. It was a good for me. I’m sore from my exercise Monday + walking the zoo on Tuesday + what we did yesterday. It’s a good sore though and I know it is going to make a difference on the scale. We are aiming to walk three days a week. We both have trips to Florida coming up soon and would like to shed a few pounds before our trips.
Today it is windy and I am going to start some laundry just any moment. Tonight I am planning to go to a meeting with the Peacemakers Quilt Club in Lebanon. I called on Monday to get details and I’m really looking forward to it. They do all sorts of different styles and techniques so there will be lots to see and learn. It’s about 60 women and according to the lady I talked to I’ll be the only one of childbearing age, so I’m taking Ivan to get some lovin’. Maybe I should take the camera.
So glad you had a great time on your birthday!
So sorry that I’m a block head that forgot your birthday:( I’m glad you had a good time though. The Louisville Zoo looks like a lot of fun.
