Everyday Life

This is an Update

I feel like I should update. Here’s a quick list of things that we’ve done around here:

Saturday
choir rehearsal (I took both kids since there was child care and let Kris sleep until 10:00) I’m so glad he got some rest. He’s been a blue ribbon daddy and husband and deserves the quiet for a little bit.
kids napped and I went to Hobby Lobby, Pier One and Marshalls and almost completed all Christmas shopping.
Made taggies for December Birthday girls.

Sunday
Church Choir Concert. Sang Tennessee Christmas with Becky and Chele’ while fake snow was dumped on audience. Sort of cool. It was definitely scattered snowfall in the room as the machines couldn’t get to everyone but it was applauded and we got a few claps as well.
After church we went to the Button’s house for Halle’s birthday. Very nice to hang out with the gang and Halle was adorable in pink frosting. Lael was taking steps in the living room and I fully expect her to be walking next time I see her.
Sunday night we played with Owen, watched football and hung out with grandpa (my dad) for a little while.

Monday
Kris had a big company breakfast where all employees received some sort of birdhouse. ?
Owen and Ivan and Grandpa and I got in the car and took a drive. We went and looked at the property Kris’ cousin owns down by Columbia and had lunch at the little country store in Bethel. Owen was so quiet and content the store owner gave him a bag of animal crackers because he was being a good boy. Mama was proud, and I think grandpa was too. Very sweet people in the little store and it was nice to enjoy a beautiful day. Made a few stops and got some errands run as well. Spent most of the evening addressing cards.

Monday night
Ivan slept in four hour increments allowing me to only have to get up once! I’m so happy.

  1. Birdhouses? Huh.

Glad you get to finally enjoy your dad. About time that sister stopped hogging him. 🙂

And super glad you and Kris will be getting more sleep. Go Ivan!

  2. Yah, birdhouses. Where does he work? Good for Ivan, Mr. Sleep! Nice to have a 2 yr old that people appreciate. Mine has told me no more times and stripped naked more times than I can tell you. Just today!

  3. Traci – LOL. Kris works at Renal Care Group and he got more than just a bird house. He did also get a gift card to Chili’s as a door prize, and he does get a bonus each year it’s just in the Spring instead of at Christmas. I just thought the birdhouse thing was unexpected and therefore funny.
