Owen has learned the art of taking his clothes off. I’ve been encouraging him to put his shorts on by himself and he’s been getting his arms in and out of sleeves but I haven’t pushed real hard on the dressing thing for this very reason. I think he looks better in clothes. Okay…he’s pretty cute in just a diaper or down right naked, but you know I just like clothes…it makes naked time a treat!
This morning I put an outfit on him that is very loose fitting and stretchy and it’s a tank top and shorts as well. He pulled his shorts up over his diaper all by himself this morning and went downstairs to play. I walked by the stairs and saw him at the bottom step with his shorts pulled completely off and his arms through the neck of his tank top which made it look like a tube top. Oh yuck…my son in drag. I told him to fix it please and he did…he just got the whole thing off. Now we are going to have to figure out how to encourage a more modest approach to this new found knowledge. Fun stuff. At least he kept his diaper on.
Kris and I woke up a little surprised this morning. We heard a beeping sound like an alarm but it didn’t belong to either of our little clocks so we had to investigate. It was a device hooked to one of the computers that is not functioning properly and had to be removed. No damage done we just woke up about 30 seconds before our alarms went off. That’s the Grace of God you know…He didn’t allow it to happen at 4:00 in the morning…I think He likes us. It did wake Owen up but it was sort of neat because I brought him into the bed with us and we got to have about 5 minutes of morning play time with all of us up and awake for a change. Usually I’m the only one that actually gets up at the alarm.
I got a good amount of quilting done yesterday and a little painting. I didn’t wash a single dish in the kitchen though and it’s a mess. Something always has to give. On monday I had a very clean kitchen but no project progress. Have I mentioned that I like progress. I can clean that old kitchen any time, it’s just going to get messy again…the quilt will stay quilted. And the paint…well it’s more permanent than a clean kitchen.
Note to self: Hearing a large truck coming down the road does not automatically mean you are late getting the garbage out. There is no need to give yourself a hernia running down the stairs and out the door with your mostly naked son trailing after you to get a large blue trash can to the edge of the driveway and wave while the dump truck from the neighbors pool construction goes by.
Last night, Kris and I went to a friends house to record a couple of voice over tracks for the night of laughter. I enjoyed that. Kris did a good job with one of the announcements and I did a spot for a fake commercial that one of our ladies will basically mime for us. It’s a parody of sorts on all the drug commercials out there. Owen chased their cats and scared them half to death. Poor kid would love a pet. Poor kid.
Okay…I’m feeling very awake now after my little run to the road, so I’m going to take advantage of my alertness and do something productive…I love productive.
So, Mary, was the running on level with my cat chasing sprint of 2000? Fun times…running with The Belly.
I don’t think I worked up as much speed as you did running down your hall but I thought of you. 🙂
Calm, serene Owen might have just been waiting for the skills to let his nudist side out! Watch out, I think he might be sneaky. And doesn’t he look proud and extremely happy in that photo?!
He looks mishchievous in this picture. It’s a little scary.
