Calico Dreams

Several years ago I began writing a song called Calico Dreams, which is where I got the title for my blog. To further explain I thought I’d go ahead and include the lyrics in a post.

She has them piled in the corner of a room with nothing but a view
And the eyes behind her glasses see the lie she says is true
She has a lovely smile
She wears it all the time
The jokes she tells are priceless
But her promise isn’t worth a dime

She’s got Calico Dreams
They’d rip at the seams
But she hasn’t sewn a stitch in time
To save her mind
From the Fallacy she believes
In her Calico Dreams

It’s not completely indicative of me, but on a bad day…it’s my story. Dreaming instead of doing is a downfall of mine. However, I am so much better than I used to be and whenever I think of these words it reminds me of what I don’t want to be and inspires me to do better.

A busy yet uneventful day was today…there will be more to tell tomorrow.
