Everyday Life

1 cup Butter or Margarine, softened

I like Fridays. This morning I woke up at 5:20 and realized that I had been asleep for almost four consecutive hours. This is a treat during pregnancy. I rolled over and was in a very shallow sleep when I recognized the sound of Thunder. I remembered that I had left some of my painting gear out on the deck so I got up and was able to get it inside before the rain came. It was incredible outside. The wind was blowing very forcefully and it was bright enough for me to watch the massive gray clouds rolling over the house very quickly. It was already starting to feel warm outside but the wind brought a little chill. Something like this!It was so nice. I sat on one of the patio chairs for a little while and just let the wind whip around me. I went inside and less than a minute later heard the rain hitting the North windows. I crawled back in bed until 6:24 when Owen woke up.

Owen and I ate breakfast and then went upstairs to play with Legos. I read while he played and together we acclimated ourselves to another day. It’s now 9:30 and I’m hungry again. When I was pregnant with Owen my brother laughed at my appetite and aptly named my belly “Big Hungry”. Well, Big Hungry is at it again and I think I want a Turkey sandwich.

  1. So after Owen was born, he wasn’t called “Big Hungry”? See, I think you should have a new appetite name(“Starving Again”, “Rumbly Tummy”, “Feed Me”, “Sandwich Grabber”…) for this baby and that he/she should get to keep it as a nickname. Or maybe instead of using their full names when they’re in trouble, you could call out “Big Hungry! Get over here!”. Just an idea.

  2. Well the nickname was more in reference to the belly and not the baby…make sense of that however you wish, but that was the way it was. Sandwich Grabber is good though…that’s what I want every day…we’ll have to discuss it with Joel and negotiate this.

  3. LOL Big Hungry!! That’s so cute!!

Can’t wait to see you guys on Sunday! I’ll email you the directions soon. It’s easy to get here…just about the same way you came before, but it’s closer to the interstate than where I once lived. And you get to drive onto the Army base too. 😀
