These Things

There are baskets in the corner full of fresh and untouched bouquets of fabric pastels and contrasting darks.

There are bowls on the counter bearing colorful reminders and boasting of a healthy morning banquet.

There are blankets unfolded in their most natural position against cushions which lean more toward comfort than pattern or symmetry.

There are mirrors and faucets diffused with a delicate lace of minty water spots.

There are soft carpets holding fast to the colorful rain of yesterday’s adventures.

These things, now that I see them more clearly, will wait just a little longer for my time.

  1. They all sound so lovely – it must be difficult to resist 😉
I’m definitely in support of making those things wait.

  2. Can you PLEASE come make poetry of my mess????? So beautiful, Mary. It’s all a matter of perspective, huh? I life lived fully is so rarely pristine, and THAT is what makes it beautiful!

  3. Love this Mary! So much to be thankful for:) I especially love “holding fast to the colorful rain of yesterday’s adventures.” Just beautiful~
