Remember

Remember when I said, “He’s showing me the clarity I can achieve through discipline and even sacrifice.” Well I am finding out that the opposite is also true.

I taught Sunday school this morning. I didn’t have that clarity leading up to it. But I did have a few chips, a small bowl of ice cream and a lot of pity parties. I realized what was wrong just in time to repent before we left for church and was able to present some good truth, but it sure was short.

I found a pretty little maple shoot growing near/under the steps to our back porch so I put him in a little pot. This is for you Amy.

I haven’t done any research yet on growing him up to tree status, but I wanted to get him to safety before Woody comes to weed eat the yard this week.

There is a little fellow that follows me around and sneaks into my pictures now and then. I call him Ivan.

  1. Sometimes it seems just when we’ve learned a lesson, we have to be reminded that it’s not stuck in our heads yet. You still figured out how to get back to the clarity. That’s the important part.

If you didn’t mention the little face peaking behind the maple, I was going to. I really didn’t even notice the tree for the cute little face in the blurry background:) I call him ADORABLE! I’ve enjoyed the things he’s said that you posted on FB. That one has a lot of character. Maybe it’s the middle child making sure he’s known. Maybe it’s just because he’s cute!

  2. Squeeee! That looks much more like a tree than my “sugar maple” does. I’m so excited! You’ve got some raspberry plants waiting over here 🙂

Trav saw the picture and said “is that Ivan?”. Very cute.

  3. I meant to call you all day but every time I thought of calling, I’d think, “I’ll call tonight.” Now it’s almost 11 and I can’t call you any longer. We’re about 35 miles out of N’ville as I write this.

Was Kris out of town or did he just invite you to take a turn teaching? You’ll have to elaborate a little more on Sunday School for me when I call on Tuesday.

I like the tree and I love the kid.

  4. Nice pictures, Mary. I think you will one day see that tree when it’s huge and it will be special for your son since he’s in the picture as well. I love to teach SS. Did you enjoy it?
