A short boy named Evenrude Hatcher,
Loved Elaine, but he never could catch her.
She’d dodge when he’d dart,
She’d stop when he’d start,
But the chase was a boon for his stature.
Some boys like a girl to make them work for their attention. I think little Evenrude probably has a twinkle in his eye don’t you?
I believe Evinrude is the name of a boat motor, but doesn’t it sound like a first name as well? I think so.
Well, I love the comments you guys leave on my blog. The encouragement when I’m down and then the cheers when I’m up. I am really grateful for my bloggy friends.
Tisra – I read the Oswald Chambers entry and it filled me up inside. If I wasn’t already high on the idea of giving it all up for Christ, I was certainly brimming after I read it again this morning. Thank you…and you weren’t being “preachy.” Truth can be heavy to bear at first but it always carries it’s own weight eventually.
I must say the list is still a long one, but the outlook has changed and I’m looking forward to tackling them now.
The joy of the Lord is my strength. I think I’ll curl up in that one and let my mind ponder more and more of His perfect joy while my hands get busy cleaning up this long forsaken kitchen. It is a beautiful day outside once again but I can’t allow myself to go out there just yet. I need to remove the guilt of dirty dishes before I can fully enjoy the breezes.
Kris’ car is in the shop. If you don’t mind using some of your prayer time on that one we’d appreciate it. Don’t have the cost yet…or at least Kris hasn’t shared that with me yet. Hopefully the extended warranty will take care of it, but in the mean time…we’re down to one car. I’m glad school hasn’t started yet.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Evinrude was also the name of the dragonfly in The Rescuers. So, yeah, it works for a name.
I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I have been pretty busy and i am catching up on your blog. just thought I would say that I have frequently felt overwhelmed by stuff coming at me, but remember, its not all coming at once. actually most of it will come on separate days and weeks. It helps me to think of it a little at a time. So enjoy it all! (sorry i through the switch that broke your disposal!)
I love Evenrude. It sounds perfectly English and proper, but like there might be a naughty streak in its bearer.
PS: Long-forsaken kitchens are my specialty.
Just so you know… I am now COMPELTELY addicted to the Pioneer Woman blog.
And it is all your fault.
Thanks. 🙂
