Good Grief!

Things were going so smoothly this morning. The house was in order, the boys were up and fed, the clothes were on their bodies and the teeth had been brushed in good order. All of this was done by 7:40. Time to go is 7:45…that’s plenty…more than twice enough time to get shoes on and get to school. So what happens at 7:50? Well, Aron poo-poos in his diaper, Ivan can’t find his baseball hat, and I CAN’T FIND MY KEYS!!!!!

Granted, Ivan didn’t need his hat…but for some reason this morning it was a last minute emergency. Owen’s class starts at 8:15 and we were knocking on the door at 8:15. I have not been late all year and today was the closest we have come to being late. Thank goodness Kris had another van key laying in the middle of his desk. I still don’t know what happened to my keys. Ivan was using them yesterday afternoon so they could be anywhere. Aaaahhh!

The rain is blessing us again this morning. It is just pouring straight down and I love it. It isn’t a hard rain, but it’s consistent and very, very wet.

AHA! Just found my keys. They were in the drawer next to the drawer they are supposed to be in. That’s my Ivan. He was told to put them away, and he did, he just got a little confused or side tracked or something. Can’t imagine where he would get that trait. (I once found my hairbrush in the refrigerator…yes…I somehow put it there myself.)

  1. I hate it when I can’t find my keys *and* when things are going perfectly then go downhill quickly. I feel for ‘ya.

  2. Groan. I hate those mornings! They happen to me all too frequently. And yeah. I’ve put stuff in the fridge that doesn’t belong there.
Glad you found the keys after all 🙂

  3. I remember finding my keys in luggage 2 weeks after giving up on the search and replacing them (hooray for $60 key fobs and $50 Nissan keys with chips in them…. the whole thing was about $300).

I’m sure your heart was pumping- but good for not being late. On time is okay- late is never fun.

I love the rain, too. And while most of MidTN is happy the deluge has ended, I prefer it to this balmy 80 degree yuck. But I’m weird.
