Still Not Done

Wednesday I was so determined to get done but there was just so much against me. Even the weather seemed to have a problem with my progress. The storm was beautiful, but ill timed and darkened my room when I needed it bright. The kids were creative, but lacked wisdom and scattered my thoughts when I needed them focused. Church was rejuvenating, but came too soon and caused me to stop when I only had two portions of the second coat to go. I worked to the buzzer, but had to lay down my roller and get a shower with the room still lacking in greenishness. However, I did take some pictures and will share what’s happened to a point:

As you can see there are a few pictures of the before room in it’s purple majesty. Then the white walls that seemed so inviting to my paint brush and a little of the green in the cutting in picture. The boys in the picture had just awakened from their naps and sitting them in the middle of the room seemed to be the best solution as I could not get them to leave, and could not paint with them beside me. I had placed Aron there first with Baby Einstein playing and of course my big boys were intrigued by it as well. Who can resist toys dancing to Beethoven?

P.S. – If any of you get the Better Homes and Gardens with the Middle Tennessee insert you might see on the front page a bedroom scene with a chest at the foot of the bed…it is the same chest that is sitting in my guestroom (third picture down) only it’s been painted which is exactly what I plan on doing one day. It’s nice to get a preview for my plans. I just haven’t decided what color to paint it.

  1. That purple hurts my eyes. I know I’ve stayed in that room before but wow! I like the cutting in part I saw and know for sure that I will like it much better than the purple. Not that it matters if I like it but if the *new* owners will like it. Which they should because not only will it be a very nice green but it’s seriously big to boot.

  2. I like purple, and I like lavender but this color was way too bright in either category. It was certainly fine for the 13 year old girl that once slept there but it was just too much even in a big room for me. Now that it’s green…I’ll post pictures this afternoon…I am relieved. Thankfully that’s not been a room I need to hang out in much. And hey, at least my quilt matched it. 🙂

  3. I’m pretty jealous of that chest, as is! The color you’re painting the bedroom looks really similar to the green we used in our bathroom. It’s one of my favorite colors! Good choice
