I will post pictures I promise. But for now I’m just trying to kill time while my lunch is cooking. If I actually go get the pictures and resize them it will take more time than I have.
I waited until Ivan’s nap time yesterday to get started on priming the walls in the guest room. There were a lot of little things I couldn’t set aside in the morning so I just had to wait to get started. It was a productive day all in all. I aired out the couch cushions on the back deck, washed two loads of things I hadn’t planned on washing, but then one doesn’t plan on Ivan peeing on things or spilling things on a perfectly clean quilt. The lawn got mowed. I had to wait on that too because I had to bring the cushions in while the grass was blowing around and then take them back out when the grass was lying down again. Also, I didn’t want to be upstairs painting when the mowers wanted to get paid. So…all of that fit nicely into my morning hours, and also included lunch and dinner prep (that we never actually ate but I got it started anyway) and some playtime with the boys. The afternoon found me busy casting out the purple. The all white room was waiting anxiously for some color this morning and I’ve had more interruptions than I can count. I will not complain too much. How many days did I sit in an office wishing I could paint and yell at kids? A lot. I would not trade the frustration of interruptions for the ordered life at a desk.
So I’ve started cutting in and will probably have to do two coats of this color over the white. The guy at the paint store didn’t seem to think I would need a tinted primer…he was obviously just too lazy to do it because I don’t think going over the bright lavender would have been any more difficult with two coats than going over the white is. Oh well, this way I see a vast difference when I put on that light green. It is fun to paint and see a change and a freshness come over a room. I love it.
My lunch is almost done.
The boys are almost through eating and then they are taking naps and Aron will probably wake up from his…I seldom get them all asleep at the same time. I will finish painting today though…I don’t care how much I am interrupted.
But I thought you *loved* the purple?!! 🙂
I knew that was on your home improvement list since move-in! Cant’ wait to see the new color!
I love to paint! Wish I could help 🙂 Cutting in can be very rewarding work….and it’s what I’m best at, but I love rolling huge swaths of colors on the wall.
Yay! I can’t wait to see it!
