My dad brought this to me in November of 2006. It was in his basement and he was considering burning it. I had to rescue it.
I painted it and did a lot of work but the top was unfinished for a long time. Last week I got some tile and other necessities to get the job done and last night I put the final coat of sealant on the stones.
I’m pretty happy with it. I of course have a long list of disclaimers, but I won’t bore you with what’s wrong with my work. I’ll just happily announce that I’m finished.
I would like to also note that we finally got some new lighting in our foyer.
And also in our dining room.
i love the top you put on it. be proud of what you did with this piece!
Gorgeous! I love furniture rescue work!
Wow, I haven’t been up there in a while. In fact, last time I was there you didn’t have a dining room table…or an Ivan (at least he wasn’t born yet). I can’t wait to come up next week!
Beautiful job, Mary! You’ve done the incredible piece justice. And the lighting looks wonderful, too!
Love it!!!
