The Week That Was

Monday was a good start to a busy week as mentioned and after hanging out with friends, and jumping around at a birthday party we were exhausted. The boys slept very well that night and got up refreshed on Tuesday only to be whisked away to church so I could go to Bible study.

On Wednesday we stayed home until time to go to church. The boys and I actually got out of the house early and were able to relax over a snacky dinner in the gym with Kris before going to our classes. Kris and I were scheduled to work in the nursery the week before but because of weather church was canceled last week. So, we got to work this week and I’d have to say, they didn’t really need us too badly. Kris was needed more than I was apparently. There is a little boy in the toddler room who will not allow females to hold him. He was crying uncontrollably until Kris came in and held him. He said the crying stopped immediately and all he did was pull up a chair and hold little Will the entire church hour.

On Thursday I had a hair appointment at 9 and also needed to drive to Kentucky to pick up a few things. Needless to say, it was a long day and by the time we got home around 3:00 we all laid down for naps. The boys slept for a couple hours and then Kris came home and we all got ready to leave for church once again. This time it was for leadership dinner. I always enjoy leadership dinner. The dinner is always the same, the chairs are always uncomfortable, it’s always a little hectic getting out the door and we’re always out late with the boys, but something about the encouragement and training and camaraderie in a group that size is motivating. Which is of course the goal.

Yesterday, I was able to find a babysitter to keep the boys while I had lunch with Pastor Sandy and then had an appointment at the eye doctor. Our lunch at Ellendale’s was so nice. The food of course, was delicious but it’s been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Pastor Sandy and I left feeling encouraged and peaceful. Part of that may have been the fact that I wasn’t carrying or chasing or cleaning up after anyone. My eyes are good too in case you were wondering. My prescription hasn’t changed since I first got glasses 6 years ago, so I’m thankful for that. All in all Friday was a very good ending to the weekdays and sitting in my comfy chair while the boys napped was rewarding and sweet. I didn’t get a lot of housework done this week but I didn’t make a lot of messes either so it all works out. Today is laundry catch up day!!!!

  1. It was good seeing you on Monday with Christie and just being together in person. The blog world, telephones, and e-mail allow us to forget that we haven’t been together in weeks. Mostly that is a good thing…it helps us pick up right where we left off instead of doing all this catch-up.

So, did you get a trim? Or something more drastic? I want to see! 🙂

  2. Ooh, I want to see your hair too! I’m glad that your Ellendale’s meal was a bit better than mine. I’ll definitely give them another chance because I love the place so much. And really I’m at a 2 good meals to 1 so-so meal ratio so that’s pretty good odds.
