And the Morning Brought Light

We determined he wasn’t having a heart attack or anything, but the pain in Kris’ left shoulder had us up quite a bit during the night. He’s off to work this morning, earnest in his resolve not to let down a host of people depending on his presence at work. He is feeling better he said. Though the pain is still present, it is not as bad. I plan to make a few phone calls today to see if I can get anyone’s expert opinion on his symptoms.

Aron woke up early but was back to sleep an hour after I fed him and the older boys slept until after 7:00. This is pretty late around here. It was nice for me to relax into my morning. Owen is awake and sitting on my lap while I type which isn’t ideal but I love him so I deal with it.

Isn’t that funny…not ideal so I deal.

We had snow last night! It was clear on the way to church but once service was over our cars were covered. It was not dangerously heavy or slick on the roads so we all made it home just fine. Owen was very excited and he and I watched it fall for a while and checked the forecast before I made him brush his teeth and go to bed.

Tuesday night we enjoyed hosting our Sunday school class for burritos and games. Tuesday is not the normal get together night but as one of our classmates works in retail it is pretty much his only night off work. This was his first opportunity to do something with us and there was a really good turn-out. There were 15 adults and several kids here. We had a very good time and it makes me think that we should try a Tuesday night again sometime.

Today has no schedule as of yet. There are no appointments, no deadlines and no high pressure issues to deal with. I have a growing list of things to do but flexibility still reigns and I hope to squeeze a nap in.

Please pray for Kris…I hope to hear that there is no pain by the time he comes home today.

  1. Lord, ease the tension produced by Kris’ pain. Give this dear family the wisdom to care for symptoms when they are serious, and to determine if they are serious- letting them also feel extreme peace if it is something insignificant. We trust You, God.

Mary, do keep us updated and get some rest.

  2. Yes, please update us when you have news on Kris!
And I do love the thought of “not ideal so I deal.” It sounds like a good Mama Mantra.
