Tickle My Tummy Hills

Yesterday was memorable in that we had to drive to Kentucky to pick up some specialty items and on the way encountered hwy 100 with it’s numerous “tickle my tummy hills.” I think Becky’s kids were the ones who first named them this. The first one was a surprise and Ivan spoke up first with a “whooooaa!” Soon they were both giggling and squealing as I sped up to crest potential tummy dropping hills. Don’t worry there was no speeding, but the best way to experience that tickle is to come up on it quickly and then coast over the top…like your flying.

We stopped in to see Becky and feed Aron on the way back and Owen was treated to a few snacks before we went to the grocery store. Ivan had fallen asleep and stayed in the van until we were ready to leave again. We continued on to Kroger and then home with a fairly smooth morning behind us.

Christmas gifts are nearly all collected and I have a few more that I need to finish up on the list of homemade items. Nothing too difficult or consuming and I’m feeling confident that they will be done in time. Then comes the wrapping and ribboning (did you know that’s a word? I actually typed it to sound silly but my spell checker didn’t alert me…sure enough it’s a real word) and labeling. These are a few of my favorite things.

The weekend will certainly prove busy as Aron and I are set to be Mary and Baby Jesus in the Christmas concert at church. If you are interested in seeing our awe inspiring performance, you can catch us at 5:00 on Saturday evening, 10:00 Sunday morning and 6:00 Sunday evening. Kris was supposed to be Joseph but now has to work on Saturday night so Todd Spitters is standing in for him. Aron did very well at his first rehearsal last night. The lights were shining so brightly into his eyes it bothered him, so he just closed them and went to sleep, while the drums played loudly about 3 yards away. Next time we’ll have to try it without the pacifier.

We have successfully handled a few of the interruptions, like: finalizing our health insurance change, getting the windblown siding back up, & scheduling and rescheduling dental and doctor appointments. Some of our gifts showed up and weren’t exactly what we were looking for so we still have some work to do there. But I just feel confident that everything is working out as it should. It’s been a good week and I’m looking forward to a good weekend as well.

  1. Wow – it sounds like you’re having so much fun 🙂 It always feels good to be pretty much on top of that to-do list and thus able to really enjoy the holiday season!

  2. Sounds like the Kelsos are trucking along just fine this holiday season.

I think it’s sweet that you and Aron played Mary and baby Jesus. How did it go? He’s such a sweetie!

  3. Oh my goodness! We had Roller Coaster hills when I was growing up! I loved them! Of course, backk then, there were no child restraint laws and I remember standing on the front seat between my parents just giggling away! I loved those trips and I had forgotten them until now! Thanks!

Oh… and don’t feel bad about my blog… I agree more with you anyway!
