Last Night

Another Night of Laughter is come and gone.

It’s been a busy week and the payoff was excellent. Last night we performed for a crowd of nearly 700 women who wanted to laugh. I enjoyed the night so much. Not being the director of the event certainly has it’s advantages. With only one skit to worry about and feeling that everything under my control was really taken care of, I was able to freely enjoy everything around me and truly enjoyed the crowd and the laughter so much more.

The night started off with a bang and each performer was well suited to their character and the lines they were given. My sister Becky was involved in three different skits and pulled off three completely different characters with what appeared to be ease. I know she struggled a lot to get there with time constraints and lots of other responsibilities to keep her from rehearsing as much as she would have liked. I heard lots of good comments and her portrayal of a Latin Eve making a public apology to the press was a big hit.

I know that Amber showed up. She didn’t sign up for childcare before the cut-off so Madison got a bit of an education as a part of the audience. These women only crowds are dangerous that way. They did seem to enjoy it and it was so nice to see them there and have their support. It certainly made me feel good.

The ideas are already rolling in for next year and I am anxious to see what the creative minds of our writing team will come up with. We are having a little party next Friday night to watch the entire performance on video and I hope to get a copy for myself. I can honestly say…this year was better than it’s ever been.

  1. We had a great time, and I couldn’t think of a better forum for my child to raise the questions of PMS, mamograms, and Midol. I’m happy that I am the one who gets to teach her about those “rights of passage” as a female, and the Ladies Night of Laughter created a fun, and entertaining backdrop for these lessons.
