Time to Blog

I suppose it’s time to blog again. I haven’t had much of interest to say so I just haven’t said anything. Since Tuesday I have held the baby, played with the boys, done a little housework, went to Target with all three boys…went well, edited a video for Night of Laughter, enjoyed having my husband home all day on Saturday and most of Sunday and continued healing from my harrowing childbirth experience. Okay…so my experience wasn’t harrowing, but it does take a while to heal. I am feeling much, much better and expect to be 100% back to myself very soon. I don’t know that the weight will follow the same path but I am confident I will get there.

Yesterday at church a woman told me about her family and how she and each of her siblings were big babies of 10 pounds or more. Her mother carried twins that were 8lbs 2oz and 7lbs 14oz. That’s 16 pounds of baby and both boys came out just fine. She said she remembers her mother being so big with that pregnancy that she could stand with her back on one side of a doorway and her belly would touch the trim on the other side. Wow!

Aron has gotten lots of oohs and aahs when we are out in public. He’s a pretty cute little guy. Most people look at him and say he doesn’t look as big as his birth weight suggests. It’s usually when he’s sort of scrunched in his car seat and all you see is his little head. But stretched out, people are more apt to react to his size. He is a long baby.

The boys have been playing outside a lot more. Ivan has become a bit more trustworthy out there so I don’t have to be out with him every moment and Owen loves being out with the neighbor boys. Even if they aren’t playing with him, he likes the company. He wore his Titan’s uniform outside again yesterday and it was pretty funny to watch him running around in those clothes and sandals. He needs tennis shoes. I bought some the other day but forgot socks and guessed too large. We’ll have to take them back and try again.

So…today will be a little bit of catch up work around the house. I’m being obedient and not doing all of it but I need to do laundry so that I have something to cover this healing body. I will also be taking some time to work on my lines for the Night Of Laughter which is THIS FRIDAY! I hope that some of you can come. It starts at 7:00 and there is childcare up to 5th grade this year! Whoo hoo! It’s all free but if you want childcare, be sure to call the church and sign up for it 865-6655. I was not in charge this year which allows me more freedom to perform. I will be doing a skit with my sister Becky…we’ll be doing our stock Amish characters for a skit called “What Not to Wear: Lancaster County Edition.” I’d like to do some different characters but will wait until I have a little more time to develop and practice them. Maybe next year…or the year after…or 5 years from now.

Life is good. I’m getting used to the idea of having three boys and enjoying each of them as much as I can. The older two are outside right now enjoying the beautiful weather. Aron is laid out on a blanket in the living room, not enjoying himself. I’d better go get him before he blows a gasket.

  1. I have to laugh at you saying that you don’t have much exciting to blog about- YOU HAVE A BRAND NEW BABY! If that isn’t blog-worthy, I don’t know WHAT is! You’re doing one of the most amazing, tiring, and rewarding things on this beautiful planet. Good job, Mommy! 🙂

  2. Ha!! Well, Tisra, as you know…this is the boring part of parenting. It’s the sleep, eat and poop stage. Yes, it’s exciting because I’m falling in love with the little guy but it’s difficult to make all of that interesting in a blog.

  3. Thanks for the update! I’d been wondering how everything was going….
Congrats on making it to Target – that’s a feat!
