Sunday morning! It is still early and the jury is not yet in on what the day will hold, but I know we are closer to Aron’s arrival and I’m excited to see what happens.
Yesterday I had my appointment with Kathy and asked her if she would be willing to check my progress. I am on the verge of labor. 4+ centimeters dilated and 50% effaced, the baby’s head is engaged and all is looking very well.
I had quite a few contractions last night again and still received a good night’s sleep so I’m on a road of slow but functioning labor. It’s as if I’m in a very long phase one labor that comes in waves and allows me to remain quite active. When and if my water breaks or if my body decides to kick into phase 2 active labor things will move very quickly according to Kathy. I’m on alert, but trying not to be too anxious.
I am planning to go to church again this morning unless something changes in the next hour and a half. Kris took a few pictures and I would post a picture of the belly, but not being on my normal computer I need a little help with figuring out how to use this new hardware. My normal computer is officially dead by the way, Kris did a quick scan yesterday in search of life and found none. He believes all my stored information is salvageable but the computer itself will have to be replaced eventually. In the meantime I’m on his laptop which he is not using regularly. It actually looks a little nicer on the desk but I am so into comfort it will take some time to get used to the non-ergonomic keyboard. He could hook my keyboard up to the laptop I suppose but that would just look ridiculous. I like the fact though that I can set myself up on this and after the baby comes I can have it in bed or chair or wherever I am comfortable and not feel like I have to be at my desk to check e-mail or update blogs. Laptops are a good thing. Hopefully, I will have a lap again soon.
I hope you have a lap again soon, too, but look on the bright side. Right now you have the perfect build in desk! 🙂
We’re praying for a speedy labor. I will pray especially fervently today. 4cm! That’s GREAT progression!! You’ve officially beat me in the overdue category. I was only 4 days overdue when Gabe finally came along.
Progress, yay! That has to be a relief. But you’re a brave sould to head out to church when you’re almost half way there. Yikes.
I’m hoping for laps. One of my african friends says that one leg is one lap and two legs is two laps, so I’m hoping your laps are back in working order soon. Praying this is a blessed day and one that produces a baby by the end of it!
WooHoo! Progress!
My girls call a lap, laps. As in Mommy I want to sit on your laps. Or I will put my plate on my laps. I never correct them cuz it is so cute. Someday soon you will get your laps back!
